The First Actor Returns from the Harry Potter Films for the TV Adaptation

According to CinemaDrame News Agency, HBO announced that Warwick Davis will be the first actor from the Harry Potter films to appear in the television adaptation of J.K. Rowling’s novels. Davis will once again reprise the role of Professor Filius Flitwick. He had previously played Griphook, the goblin of Gringotts Wizarding Bank, but in the Harry Potter series this role will be played by Lee Gill.
Other actors announced today, Monday, to join the Harry Potter series include Elija Oshun as Dean Thomas, Finn Stevens as Vincent Crabbe, and William Nash as Gregory Goyle.
It had already been revealed that Dominic McLaughlin, Arabella Stanton, and Alistair Stott would portray Harry Potter, Hermione Granger, and Ron Weasley, respectively, succeeding Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, and Rupert Grint. John Lithgow, Olivier Award-winning actor, will play Albus Dumbledore; Oscar nominee Janet McTeer will play Minerva McGonagall; Paapa Essiedu, star of I May Destroy You, will portray Severus Snape; Nick Frost, known for Shaun of the Dead, will play Rubeus Hagrid; and Bertie Carvel, Tony and Olivier Award winner from The Crown, will portray Cornelius Fudge.
In addition, Lax Pratt will play Draco Malfoy; Luke Tallon, a stage actor from Hamlet, will appear as Quirinus Quirrell, the Defense Against the Dark Arts professor in the first season; Paul Whitehouse, five-time BAFTA winner, will play Argus Filch, the caretaker of Hogwarts; Rory Willmott as Neville Longbottom; Amos Kitson as Dudley Dursley; Louise Brisley as Madam Rolanda Hooch; and Anton Lesser as Garrick Ollivander.
The Harry Potter series, written by Francesca Gardiner, will premiere on HBO Max in 2027.
